In many occasions, the anxiety is very intense and these people cannot sleep and cannot do regular activities.

Sometimes people who suffer from separation anxiety disorder have frequent nightmares about losing another person forever. These nightmares will disrupt their sleep and they do not have sufficient rest, which will create further distress. Children with this disorder will show lack of concentration and attention in doing regular activities. Therefore, it is very important for people who suffer from separation anxiety disorder to seek help right away. They need to see their doctor, which may help them to recommend a good counselor or psychologist to find and eliminate the real source of the problem. Another alternative treatment is taking medications prescribed by the doctor. Medications are effective short-term solution to offer relief and give the sufferers some times to concentrate in finding the treatments to eliminate the problem completely.
